Digital sovereignty
Governance that is 100% European
The site you are reading is served from Germany, written in Paris, and its domain name is managed by a French provider. This is not a posture: it is the same chain, end to end, as the one offered for the projects the studio delivers.
Where this site actually lives
The same names appear in the legal notice and in the privacy policy. A sovereignty claim that names nobody is not a claim at all.
Hosting — Netcup GmbH — Karlsruhe, Germany. Servers located in Germany, a German company, therefore subject to European law alone.
Development — Paris, France. The code is written by one person, in France, with no subcontracting and no offshore team.
Domain name (registrar) — LWS — Ligne Web Services SAS, Paris, France. A French registrar, billed in euros, reachable in French.
Email — LWS — Ligne Web Services SAS, Paris, France. Contact form messages pass through no American service.
Analytics — Written for this site, running on this site's own server. No visit data is sent to a third party, in Europe or anywhere else.
Transfers outside the EU — None. Not for hosting, not for email, not for analytics.
Why jurisdiction matters more than location
A server “in Europe” operated by a US-incorporated company remains reachable under the CLOUD Act: the law follows the company, not the machine. Choosing a German host and a French registrar means the only authority that can demand anything is a European one — and that the GDPR applies by default rather than by contract.
- One jurisdiction: German for the servers, French for the domain and the email.
- No stack of standard contractual clauses to legitimise a transfer: there is no transfer.
- Billed in euros, with people reachable during European working hours.
- GDPR applies as of right, the CNIL is competent, and redress is real.
- No dependency on a supplier whose terms shift with another continent's trade policy.
What is not loaded on the pages
Sovereignty is mostly lost in the browser: one font, one measurement script or one map is enough to send every visitor's IP address to a third party. This site loads none of them, and delivered projects are built on the same principle.
- Self-hosted fonts — no call to Google Fonts.
- No Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixel.
- No American CDN: the files are served by the German server.
- No embedded YouTube video or Google map without your explicit agreement.
- A single measurement cookie, set after consent, documented in the privacy policy.
What that changes for your project
Hosting and the domain stay in your name — that is the studio's rule, sovereignty or not. What changes here is the default recommendation: a European host, a French registrar, and a page built to call nothing else. If your sector requires more — certified health-data hosting, data that must stay in France — that is scoped before the quote.
- A checkable claim to put on your own site, rather than an unverifiable promise.
- A short list of processors, so GDPR compliance stays maintainable over time.
- The code is yours, repository included: nothing locks you to one supplier.
- The studio migrates an existing site away from a non-European host if that is what you want.
The site is hosted in Germany — is that really “French”?
No, and that is not what is promised: the promise is European. The host is a German company, development is French, the domain and email sit with a French provider. No data leaves the European Union. If your project requires servers on French soil, that is possible — say so during framing.
How can these claims be checked?
The legal notice names the host with its address, and the privacy policy lists every processor. A WHOIS lookup gives the domain's registrar, and the browser's own tools show that no request leaves for any domain but this one.
Is it more expensive than American hosting?
No. European hosting sufficient for a landing page or a small application costs a few euros a month, as it does elsewhere. The price gap appears at volumes most projects never reach.
